Superbowl Challenge Rules

Here's the rules:

Everybody that wants to play can gets $10,000,000 Fantasy Dollars.  With that money, you can sign NFL players to play for you.  Each player has a set salary that he has to be paid in order to play for you. (I've already handled all the negotiations with each player's agent, and talked them down to their bottom dollar.)

There is no limit to how many players you can sign regardless of their position.  (That means you can sign as many QB's, Defenses, etc. as you can afford.)

Everybody gets to build a team using the same pool of players.  For example, I might sign Steve McNair(QB-StL), St. Louis Defense, Eddie George(RB-Ten), and Marshall Faulk(RB-StL).  And Christina's team might be Kurt Warner(QB-StL), St. Louis Defense, and Jeff Wilkins(K-StL).  In this example, I would think that, for the same amount of money, my combination of players will score more points than hers.

Plus, each owner must sign a Head Coach.  They'll work for you for free.  (Wouldn't you if you had a chance to coach a team in the Superbowl?)

The players will earn Fantasy Points for you using the same scoring rules that we had in the AQC '99 playoffs.

Whoever's team scores the most points wins!!

I've added a spot on the web site where you can view the salaries and sign your players.  Your team can be submitted or changed anytime you want up 'til kickoff of Superbowl XXXIV!  Your team will NOT be posted where other owners can see it until kickoff time.  This way, you can conceal your strategy.

I think it would make the Superbowl Challenge a bit more interesting if each owner would put about $5 or so into the pot and the winner take all.  The money is totally optional and anyone is welcome to build a team, but the pot would go to the owner with the highest score who paid money.  People who are playing for free will just play for braggin' rights.

I just came up with this about 11:30 Wed. night. (Snow Days get my creative juices flowing.)  So it could have some glitches h6re aND thEr*.  I've never tried this before, and I haven't ever seen it done before.  So let's just cross our collective fingers and hope for the best.  And if you have any questions, please contact me.

GOOD LUCK!!

Daniel Thompson
